Victory Baptist Church is a Bible believing Baptist church standing for the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith.

We are not associated with any Baptist denomination.  We operate as an autonomous congregation, yet do not consider ourselves self-governed, but rather Christ-governed.  The head of our church is the Lord Jesus Christ, our Pastor His under shepherd. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.

Though imperfect, we strive to model ourselves after the New Testament Church of the Bible.

As a Baptist Church we believe the same foundational Bible truths that God's people have historically believed through the ages.  The Bible doctrines that make us distinctly Baptist are:

Biblical Authority - the verbally inspired Word of God, which was faithfully and accurately preserved in the 1611 Authorized Version, is our sole authority in all matters of faith, practice, and understanding.

Autonomy of the Local Church - that each New Testament Church is individually headed by the Lord Jesus Christ, and cannot be controlled by any board, hierarchical  system, or another church.  Any ministry must be under the authority of the New Testament church and its pastor.

Priesthood of the Believer - that every believer in Christ may pray directly to God, through Jesus Christ, without any human intercessor.  Baptists reject any separate Priesthood in the Church.

Two ordinances - that believer's baptism is a step of obedience after salvation and the Lord's Supper is a memorial to Christ's death.

Individual soul liberty - that every soul is responsible to God only and the Bible is to be put into the hands of every individual, to understand it according to the leading of the Holy Spirit of God.

Saved Church membership - that members of the New Testament Church are only those who profess Christ as Saviour, believing in the eternal security of their soul, and give evidence of salvation by demonstrating a willingness to obey the teachings of the Word of God.

Two offices in the Local Church - the Pastor and Deacons.

Separation of of Church and man's government - that the New Testament Church should not be united with or supported by the secular government, but that every believer should respect, sustain, and pray for civil authority, and should obey such authorities so long as doing so does not cause one to disobey God's Word.

Victory Baptist Church exists to glorify God.  The commission of our Lord is that we let everyone, everywhere, have every opportunity to hear the gospel message, believe, be baptized, and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  This commission is found in Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46-47, John 20:21, and Acts 1:8.  This commission is what drives us to be a witnessing church.  We strive to be a going church for a coming Christ.  It is our solemn duty to reach Central Oregon and all the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
